My dell dimension L1000r is restarting after every 5-10 minutes. I have tested the memory and hard disk and are all ok. The processor also seems to be fine since the machine is starting but what is making it restart every time

YOu are probably getting a blue screen indicating hardware or driver issues. YOu will not be able to see or debug the error until you can have it displayed instead of simply rebooting (default setting).
GO to START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM Click the advanced tab in the SYSTEM box and click the START UP and Recovery button, Here you will see a section called SYSTEM FAILURE, just uncheck the box that says Automatically Reboot.
Now when the system crashes you will get a blue screen error displayed, this error can be debugged either here or you may find it yourself at www.deja.com (Google newsgroups).
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
