Dell Diags – in DOS batch file mode

    Locked

    by john ·

OK – I run Dell Diags from a bootable CD.
    No problem there.

What I need to be able to do is automatically select what tests are performed.
I know that this facility is available because the DOS switches for delldigs.com show it can be configured to use a batch file for this purpose.

    Anyone have any suggestions ?

You need to edit the bootup ‘autoexec.bat’ batch file of the diag CD on another PC. It’s possible that the Dell CD may use a series of other batch files to run all the diags, so look on the CD to see what batch files (.bat files) are there.

You would then have to create a bootable CD and put your edited file in place of the original one.

Thanks for trying robo_dev but it’s not as simple as that sadly !!

I am an I.T. pro and generally making or editing any batch file would be no problem

I think this question will need previous experience of how Dell Diags should be configured in DOS mode.
