Purchased dell latitude 300 ast on Ebay, came with win xp pro. hd went bad (no power) so i had to buy new hd. I re format the hd. I had to install it to the ide adapter for desktop so i could use win 98 ME fdisk. atempted install of win 2000, and win me and when connected to desktop works fine with both os. when connected to laptop it doesnt load, and the only time bios recognizes hd when there is no OS installed at all?? also bios password unknown set to auto detect and boot from hard drive.
