You need to explain what you need help with more specifically to get help. Are you reformatting your hard disk, is the computer not active properly, are you trying to add or change hardware/software? I have no clue what you are asking and imagine nobody can based on the original post.

If the BIOS date is before 2016, see if the PC maker has an update available. Dell doesn’t show any BIOS updates for laptop since 2018. Update 1903 works. If I try to update to 1909 will I start having problem with outdated drivers?

The BIOS date does not make/break Windows 10.

I have an old desktop with a BIOS from about 2009 and the latest W10 runs great.

Also, we tend to never update the BIOS unless there is a very good reason.

Finally, drivers don’t wear out. They tend to keep working HOWEVER I do encounter techs, clients and PC owners that expect Microsoft to go get drivers or expect an old printer to always work with today’s OSes.

Here, I don’t see what the problem is yet. Maybe it’s just you being worried. Which is easily addressed by having full backups.

If you have 1903 you should not have a problem going to 1909.

If there is a bios update at the dell site it might be a good idea to get it and test with 1903.

If all is good then go to 1909.

We have had Dell laptops for over a decade and not once has a driver expired.

Please tell more about what you need to get done or working.

Maybe this is what you meant by expiration.

I’m reading https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search/18165 about version 1903 and it does have an end of support date of December 8, 2020.

This does not mean the drivers have expired and has little to nothing to do with OEM.

Windows 10 and how it’s maintained is a big departure from prior Windows so I’ll pause here so you can verify this was never about OEM expired drivers.
