Dell PC BIOS does not start

By rrichmond ·
HAve a Dell Optiplex 620. When it is booted, no bios occurs that I can see. The only output to the monitor is "RV370 P/N 113-A62901-103 BIOS". Moved hard drive to an identical PC and received the same output. I am wondering if anyone has seen/resolved this before as a search on Google yields nothing.

Follow-up: It appears that some RAm was to blame. When I switched the Hard Drive to the new PC I also moved 2 sticks of RAM. My associate removed the RAM as a trial and the PC booted. Additionally, we had a problem with the video card. I replaced it and all is well. However, I have never seen a bad stick of RAM stop the boot process and diplay that kind of message.??

"RV370 P/N 113-A62901-103 BIOS", is the bios...

What are you trying to do?.
Sounds to me that the BIOS is on the harddrive (or a copy of it).

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.

You get an error message. So if RAM has failed with a system that has it's BIOS loaded onto the HDD this is exactly what you should see.

Same problem but here's how I fixed it

My error message was RV370 25902 BIOS P/N 113-A25902-103

I removed and reseated all my RAM sticks, and disconnected and removed/reseated my video card.

Computer rebooted perfectly, and all this by a lucky non-technical guy. Just thought I'd post in behalf of other grandpa's whose grandkids kicked over the computer when playing.

Stand down, Mehul.

I found the part about his grandchildren entertaining; and, the part about his recovery comforting.

Otherwise, keep your sharp eye out.
