I have a dell pe1800 server with an OS(win2000 server) problem. I really need to get the data back on the hard disks because they were not backups. I removed the scsi hdds and in place of it i place another one so as to install another os on it, then try to access the initial hdds as we do on IDE hdds. However, when i hot plug the hdds, it was not seen, on the disk manager, i rescan for hard ware, this too did not work.
I then proceeded to remove, the harddisk and rebooted the machine. Though, it boots to windows desktop and it is working well, there’s this continous beep from the system. I shut down the system ,removed all the scsi hard disks, and restarted the machine, but i still get the continous beep sound.
What could be the problem? How could it be solved?
secondly, i will need help on how to retrieve the data from the other scsi drives. I need assistance soonest!
