Dell Poweredge PCIe SIIG eSATA card not detected by system

By jamesb ·
We have two clients so far that have experienced this problem on Dell Poweredges installing a PCIe SIIG eSATA card. It is not detected by system and we can find nothing in the BIOS.

Resolution?

by rnailor In reply to Dell Poweredge PCIe SIIG ...

Was wondering if you ever came up with a resolution to this? I'm having the same problem.

Anybody figure this out?

I have run into the same thing and was told by SIIG to call Dell. I really think its a SIIG issue. What did you end up doing?

Looking for info.

I spoke with several Dell technicians and tried 3 different cards in my Poweredge 2950 server and none would show up at all. I was told by Dell that they don't support eSata on these servers yet. My point to them is what is the point of an expansion slot if you cannot put anything in it to "expand" the capabilities of the machine. Also, I wanted to see if anyone has found an eSata card that works in their server.
I appreciate any info anyone has.
