Dell/Win98 PC - Shutdown Problem

By Shanghai Sam ·
speed - 56k modem
os - win98/2000 msworks

Able to shutd client pc without problem
except when connection to ISP ( ) is left without a full signoff
from signon/off interface level menu.

Shutdown sequence hangs. I have seen this problem with older versions of '98
due to certain device and or power mngmnt incompatabilities. Any ideas ?

Best solution I can come up with:

Use another ISP other than AOL... Use an ISP that doesn't require you to use THEIR software to dial up. Use one that will allow you to connect directly from a Dial-Up Networking connection. That will eliminate any ISP software conflicting with the way the OS works, simply because there wouldn't BE any...

Good luck.
