A few times now I have needed to upgrade a few different diamond video cards to another vid card but after the new driver installs the desktop control panel gives me no color palette choices, no frequency choices and the resolution choices are 1 of 786624 or 2 of, or 3 of, etc. It happens when the prior video card was a diamond s3 using diamond drivers. I have tried multiple new cards and none worked after the diamond. So far the only fix was to wipe and reinstall NT. Now this is the 3rd or4th time and I need a better answer than that. Anyone have one out there?
PS at the end of the reboot I get an “Error occurred in control panel c:\winnt\system32\desk.cpl
