Desktop appearance of safemode

By bburkard ·
My desktop has the appearance as if it were in safemode. When I open Internet explorer, there is poor resolution. For example, pictures show no detail.

Although the task bar shows the printer is available and the printer indicates it is online, I can not print. When I use the print manager to print a word document, and debug, the error message is: WordBasic.FilePrint 0

Thanks for your help! If you need to call me I am at 270-869-0036.

For the first problem, right click on the desktop -- select Properties -- go to the display settings tab, and change your resolution.
It may also be a corrupt video driver or failing card. Try updating the driver.

I would need more info about the word doc.

If it doesn't say SAFE MODE on the screen or get a message that you started in Safe Mode, then you aren't in Safe Mode.

Do get those Display Settings taken care of, then try uninstalling and re-installing the printer. Have found it best to remove the actual hardware, then remove the software & drivers, go get the updated software/drivers from the hardware mfg's. site then re-install both.

Good Luck.
