Desktop Icon

I have an icon on the desktop which was used for connecting to a PSION handheld computer. Having now got no use for the PSION I have removed all the software from my PC. However I cannot remove the PSION icon from the desktop on my PC. It does not want to go to the recycle bin either. Have you any suggestions of how to remove the icon permanently
