Desktop Publishing

I’m looking for a alternative to MS Publisher to produce newletters, leaflets etc. It has to be freeware or open source, and has to have the same (or similar) functionality to Publisher.

It’s for a friend who’s used publisher before, but now doesn’t have access to it, unless anyone has a key-code for it (I’m joking!). It’ll be for Windows XP.

I’ve never used Publisher, so don’t really know what I’m looking for. I’ve found Scribus http://www.scribus.net/, is this what I’m after?

Any advice would be great, thanks.

A.
