I need to determine how much power my servers consume so I can purchase a UPS solution that will be suffient. I currently have two APC Matrix 5000 units. Each unit can handle 3750 watts of power, so currently my UPS system can support a 7500 watt load. My issue comes when I start to add up all the per-server-wattage needs. I am only half way through my server list and I’m already at 16,000 watts! To get per server watt usage, I download datasheets for the server model, and lookup the Power Consumption rating, and use that. Also, if the server has two power supplys, then I double the wattage needs for that server (I’m not sure if the secondary power supply draws in the max watts). Help!
