I recently tried to install Norton Antivirus 2008 on my system (AMD 64 2.4 GHZ w/ windows xp sp2 ver 5.1.2600) At the begining of the install, it told me to uninstall two programs AVG7 (antivirus) and Zonealarm. I uninstalled AVG7 but NOT Zonealarm. I shutdown Zonealarm instead and continued the install like an idiot. Now my NIC and 1394 net adapter are seen by the device manager as Unknown and show a code 31 error code (unable to load driver) I have tried to uninstall the devices and update the drivers without success. I also tried to install another NIC, and it to was unable to load the driver. I’m in way over my head on this one. Any help would be appreiciated.
