Device Manager Problems

By nhughes79 ·
I have a problem when reinstalling Windows 95. When the installation process has finished and you go into the Device Manager, there are 2 'Other Devices' with Yellow question marks.
THe PC's are Compaq Deskpro 2000 P166 and the following devices are not recognised.
PCI Early non VGA Device
Universal Serial Bus

Could anyone point me in the right direction of how to resolve this situation. I've looking on Compaq's Web site but there doesn't seem to be the appropriate drivers there.

KindRegards

Neil Hughes

You need the drivers including an inf update from http://www.compaq.com/support/files/desktops/us/locate/3_64.html

My guess would be that the OS installation
fails to properly recognise your Video
adapter and as for the second error message,
you'll need Win95B/C?. The earlier version of
Win95 do not have support for USB.

I support Compaq Deskpro units and Allan@inskip.net is correct you do need the ini files. Easy way to get it is by going to Compaq's website www.compaq.com and do a search on sp8385. If downloading this file onto the same computer, once you clcik onit it will create 3 folders Disk1, Disk2, and Disk3. In order to install it run setup for Disk1 DO NOT REBOOT and then run setup for Disk2 then reboot. If any questions feel free to e-mail me.

Thank You
