Dfs replication

I am setting up Dfs on my W2000 network. I have 2 servers both running W2000 server. I create a Dfs root on server2. Create a Dfs link on server2 pointing at the shared folder on Server1 I wish to link and replicate with. I go to the folder in Dfs and the replication selection on the Action menu is greyed out. I try to browse to the Dfs shared link folder on server2 that I have just created and it say access denied when I try and look at it. I am a domain admin. Thoughts on my current problem? I am new to Dfs and have the instructions from Tech Net but they are unclear. Any good step by step instructioins for setting up Domain Dfs with replication?
