DG33BU and Sound Card Problem

by umery2k75 . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

I’m unable to play audio in my Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.My computer was working fine and I have AntiVirus installed too. Audio drivers appears normal in Device Manager, all devices appears to function properly and every driver is enabled.
I tried to reinstall all the drivers of Motherboard from my CD I got from Intel, every thing got reinstall except that of Audio Driver. “Installation failed appeared for Audio Driver”
Another weired thing is that, when I start up my Windows XP, I can hear the sound of Start Windows, that’s the only sound that I can hear. After that I cannot hear anything…like when I try to play the song in Real Player, I get this message “Cannot open audio device. Another program may already be using it.”
By checking the TaskMgr(Application dialog tab), I had seen no Application was using it.
When I open the Sounds & Audio Devices from Control Panel, the play button appears disabled. I cannot click on it, to make it play.
SUMMARY:
(1)Drivers are working and can play the Start Windows Sounds,it’s the only sound heared.
(2)No driver appears to be corrupted.
(3)Why cannot I reinstall the driver, why I kept getting installation failed?
