DHCP

Getting conflicting answers. Can someone give me a definitive answer?

We have right now, DHCP running on a Netware server. We want to move this off Netware and over to Windows. However, my boss wants to put it on a 2000 box since we will be upgrading soon. BUT, we are still running an NT domain. We have a couple of 2000 server but none are Domain Controllers.

My question is this:

With no 2000 DC’s we are obviously not running AD. Can I run DHCP on a 2000 server in a network that is notrunning AD? Or can you not do this because a 2000 DHCPP Server has to be authorized?
