I have 21 machines that all are on a novell network and all will log into the network fine under IPX and you have complete access via IPX to the network, problems is the DHCP client can’t get an IP address. Although many other machines on the same network work fine. I have tried to renew the addresses manually and even formatted and re-installed the OS and still get the same problem. I can put a nic from another machine that I know is working and it works fine then.
When I put the original nic back in nothing. I don’t understand how all these machines could have bad nics at the same time when they were working in thier previous location. Then I attempted to setup 11 Dell system which all have the same problem. I also have 75 digital computers that came from the same location as the others and they all work fine.
Could it be the nic’s?
Strange thing is they are all 3Com 3C905B-Tx cards in all of them except the Dell Machines which are 3C920’s which are basicaly the same thing only intergrated.
How can all these nics be bad at the same time?
Any sugesstions would be greatly appreciated.
Its getting hard to go to my boss and tell him that they are all bad at the same time when he knew they were working in the other location they were in.
