I have a number of users with Win98 laptops moving between 35 different sites all WAN connected. All sites support DHCP on Win2k servers. The problem is that a user can successfully lease an IP address from DHCP at his/her base site and log on to the network ok, but when the user takes the laptop to another site (with a different DHCP server) and plugs into the network the DHCP doesn’t work. It’s almost as if the laptop is still looking for the original DHCP server to renew the lease. What’s happening?
