DHCP Probs

By d_e_v_star ·
Having problems with slow dhcp, devices take ages to get an address. Running VLANs with ip-helper addresses configured. dhcp is running on Windows Server 2003 and i'm getting some strange log entries instead of the usual:

11 Renew,,<hostname>,00193FC7137B

I seem to also be getting lines and lines of:

15 NACK,, 7274722D70726F62652D31363231352C32323438

Anyone know why it's denied and why we're getting the huge string at the end instead of the host mac address??
We have plenty of addresses left in scope.

It could be the flow controll on the vnics is not coreectly figured, It should be auto if your switches are auto it should be 10\100 Full if your switches are 10 or 100MB and duplex if switch is duplex. you could also try reserving the ip addess of your vlan nics and use static ips.
