DHCP question

By giriraj ·
i have configured DHCP on Win2k Server & i have also configured PPTP on the same server. the server has 2 NICs . on NIC 1 i have Private IP( on which DHCP is running & on NIC 2 i have Public IP ( PPTP server.

now i have 2 probs

1) if i view the IP details on client i see that the IP is assigned by DHCP & the DHCP server IP is reflecting as which is correct. but when i open DHCP console in win2k server it shows the NIC 2 interface with Public IP. is my DHCP running on public IP on NIC 2 ?

2) am not able to ping to this NIC 2 public IP. although its working & we are able to make PPTP connection to this IP.

To determine what NIC dhcp is running on from the DHCP snap in go to the server and right click, properties, advanced tab (I think) and hit bindings button. The dhcp nic will be ticked.
