i have a problem in DHCP Superscopes. i have created 2 scopes 1 local scope & 1 superscope.
the IP Address of DHCP Server is 192.168.1.10
the scopes are like these
scope-1 192.168.12.0 to 192.168.12.100
Router : 192.168.12.1
this scope is added in Superscope. DHCP clients for which this scope is intended to is in remote subnet in branch office which is connected by routers. i have enabled DHCP RELAY AGENT on these routers.
my second scope is local scope which is
Scope-2 172.16.2.10 to 172.16.2.100
router : 172.16.2.1
this scope is not in superscope
now DHCP is not leasing any IP address from these scopes.
if i set the IP address of DHCP server to match the IP of Scope-2 i.e 172.16.2.2 then it leases out from scope-2. but scope-1 remains same its not assigning any IP to remote subnet nor to the local subnet.
whatz causing this ? can’t we have 192.168.x.x assigned for DHCP server & let it assign ip of class b 172.16.x.x from its scope.
