Hey, I like this article because I like to use Knoppix, Ubuntu live, UBCD, and the UBCD4Win when it comes to recovering data or evaluating hardware issues. My big desire is to have diagnostics that can give me reasonably, readily comprehensible information from the data produced by MS error reports. If I were a real hardcore tech I suppose I would take on the stacks and heaps and decipher them myself with some tool I built to facilitate the process, but unfortunately that’s not me. Are there tools like this that would allow me to diagnose the source of software issues from a Linux boot or otherwise that would enable me to better determine where the core of the issue was when something like selecting bullets in Word kills the app and all I’m left with is a heap of hex to look at? I hate the ignorant guess and test game I often end up playing troubleshooting Windows desktop issues.
I’d love to hear any response to this.
Thanks.
