I’ve setup an Exchange Server with dial-on demand connection from the LAN to the Internet. The email server remains switched off during after office hours, becuase of power problems, etc..
To make sure all incoming emails are dequeued from the ISP’s secondary mail server, a third party utility ‘dequeue.exe’ has been configured to retrieve emails every half an hour. This was working fine until a few weeks back till the ISP changed some settings of their mail server.
Currently while using ‘dequeue.exe’ it reports ‘Unrecognised command’ for the switch options specified for dequeue, even tried manually connecting using telnet to port 25 and issuing the ‘ehlo’ and ‘etrn’ commands, still give the message ‘Unrecognised command’.
I do notwant to use the dial-up networking option and ETRN within Microsoft Exchange.
Any idea why this is happening? Any other alternative methods exist?
Help appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
