Dial on open of IE and/or Opera

By tech_wiz03 ·
Ok guru's
Anyone still remember how to maually configure Dialup internet so you don't need to click dial
isp icon then click browser. Friend wants to just
click browser and have dial box pop-up.

Since it's been many years since any of my PC's
even had a dialmodem (I use ADSL) I can't remember
how it's done anymore.

If you want this to happen on a computer and only use Dial Up you first need to setup the Dial up connection to the ISP with the Internet Connection Wizard and doing that chose to make the Dial up the default Internet connection.

That way whenever you open Outlook/Express, IE Netscape, Mantilla or whatever the Dial up box should pop up on the screen when the app opens so that it can connect to the net.

If you only want it as a backup to the ADSL you can forget about making the Dial up the Default connection and just place a shortcut on the desktop and use that instead.

You should see your DUN - select it and set as default.
Then select the option 'Always dial my default connection'.
This is all assuming you are using XP...
