A modem should work fine on your ADSL/DSL line, you shouldn't even need to disconnect it. The modem will probably connect at a lower speed (unless you disconnect your dsl and splitter) but it should work.
Well, unless the modem's really screwed and fries your line - can't say I've ever heard of it before though.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. dial-out via modem over dsl ? Possible?
The first problem I ran into is I needed ro test a modem on a PC I repaired for a fee.
I have three choices,
connect the modem to the dsl line for dial out and testing.
connect the cell phone to the modem for dial out and testing.
Suffer the $40.00 a month to have a phone line that I rarely use, no incoming calls, no faxes,
etc.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
