Dial Up Modem access to HDD media player

Here is the scenerio: I want to install a HDD media player at Grandmas. I also want to update the content on the HDD Media Player from miles and miles away. Of course, Grandma has NO INTERNET ! …. So I want to come up with a solution ( similar to faxing ) to use a phone dial up modem to update the HDD Media Player content with new pictures of the kids. If you can help, please explain in layman terms.
