dial-up modem in connection wizard not available

By Geoff59 ·
I did a Windows XP Repair on my computer and when it was finished I found the Start-Connect To [isp]icon was missing so went into new connection wizard and went through the following: 1. connect to Internet 2. set up connection manually 3. connect using dial-up modem. But I could not acccess this as only the broadband part was highlighted. How can I get the'connect using a dial-up modem' function to work again?

The only thing I can think of is that your repair went a little awry. Try it again or do a complete reinstall.

Is the modem showing in Device Manager without errors? If not, you may need to reinstall drivers.

yes, but look in control panel modems, not just device manager. you may need to Add it there. or just reinstall it...
