Dial-up Networking folder won't open

By brian ·
The subject pretty much covers it. I double-click on it and it does nothing. I have uninstalled then reinstalled DUN. Didn't help. Found a single Tech Net doc that I applied and that didn't help either. The rest of my networking works normally (on the LAN).

Dial-up Networking folder won't open

Windows 95
----------

This behavior can occur if the Wsock32.dll, Wsock32n.dll, Rnaui.dll, Msvcrt.dll, Msvcrt20.dll, Rasapi32.dll, or Rnaapp.exe file in the Windows\System folder is missing or damaged.

Windows 98

In either case, you need to get the files listed off another PC and replace the current ones with the good ones. You will need to do this in MS-DOS mode as the files will be in use. This happens to me all the time and I ran across this by accident.

I know this will fix it, so if you run into any problems post what happened and I will tell you what to do next.

Install dun 1.4.

You can also uninstall client for networks and reinstall it back.

Tried 1.4. That didn't help either. I also installed IE 5.5 SP1.
As a side note, if I try to use the Connection Wizard in IE and tell it to use dial-up, I get a message that says "Could not load the remote network access library (rasnapi32.dll). The following error occured: One of the libray files needed to run this application cannot be found."
I have however replaced that file.
