Two computers are hooked to network cards. The main computer can not use the modem as a dial up to the internet. The other has no problem. Each time the main computer opens dialoge between the twocomputers, it is using the TCP/IP settings to talk tothe other computer. Is there a way for the Main computer to still use it's own modem and still be in contact with the other computer.

If your using NT 4, No. Unless you purchase modem sharing software. Try upgrading to Windows 2000 or 98 Second Edition. They've got some pretty cool technology that allows you to share that phone line.
Technically you can use NT4 as a router with a phone line attached, but it gets pretty technical.
See if you can load proxy server on the NT machine, you'll be able to connect to the internet and Network at the same time. I now proxy works with NT server and 2000 server, but not sure about just NT 4.0
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
