Purchase and install PC Anywhere (or any of the remote control utilities) and set it up to wait for calls as a host. Please be sure to setup a password that only you know, so that others won’t easily get into your network.

You can do it without any external program. Just set up the incoming connection: under Control Panel select “Network and Dial-up Connections”. If you can’t see the “Incoming Connections” icon, just click on “Make new connection” and select the “Accept incoming connection” option. After it select the appropriate device (e.g. your modem), set up the user right etc. That’s all.

Intsall and set up Remote Access Services. It’s not complicated and will allow you to treat your modem connection just like a common ethernet connection.
