Did I lost my 8Gb flash drive?

It was connected to my laptop with Windows2000; after I write a file in Word, I close this PC, I remove the flash drive and plogued in another laptop with WindowsXP, now the WXP recognize the PC the REMOVABLE DISKDRIVE E: is there, but when a want to read….BIG SURPRISE…. I get the follow message:
“Please insert a disk into drive E:”
“Cancel”
I green light still flashing on the USB.
I connected it to my desktop, and this nothing happend even if a Refresh the PC.
What I can do? What happenned?
Can I recover my Flash drive 8GB?
I boght in ebay 2 months ago and until now every thing was okey, removing after the soft tell me to do it, but now……….
