default GUI [ GNOME or KDE ]
and package manager

at the core, the systems are the same.

if you are wanting this for development purposes.
best to use Linuxfromscratch book and build a system to strict LSB-core compliance. with only those extra libs / tools you need for your projects. then it should compile and work on any distribution
