    Difficulty Connecting to Exchange Server

    Hello,

    I have several stations running win95 OEMB release, updated to IE5, using Outlook 2000. They are connecting to Exchange Server 5.5. All other machines (16) are setup the same way and connect fine. Any Ideas ? The Indivual MAPI profile has Exchange Server, Outlook Address Book, And Personal Folder. The machines login to the domain and have administrator and domain admin group security. When I set the exchange server and User Name in the exchange server properties, outlook 200 locks up when you press check name. Any Ideas ?

      Outlook sometimes doesn’t install properly and end up giving you fits.
      I would re-install it!
      You can just insert the Cd and choose a full re-install (all components).

      Hi,

      The answer from [email protected] is usually the only cure, but you could also
      try creating a new client disk on the server.

      Other than the “reinstall”, I’d look at this:

      If you get a lockup when doing the check name, it’s almost always a network issue. Sometimes it’s a DNS or WINS problem with TCP config. I’ve seen where domain authentication problems caused this. What protocols are installed on the clients and server – is it a TCP only installation? It this an NT-only environment?

        Exchange Server was selectively not accepting new users. Cleared new users. Restarted server. added them again to as recipients in exchange server administrator, and it worked.
