On Data Integration:

Data Integration is the set of processes and technologies required to automate the cleansing, reconciliation, and integration of corporate data from multiple systems, and then propagate that data to systems and applications to support both operational and analytical needs.

Unlike a data warehouse platform that serves as a repository of historical, detailed, business-structured data, a data integration hub is an operational system. In the past, data integration and cleansing was done through ETL or homegrown programming. What?s new is that now we can automate the matching, merging, standardization, integration and validation of data − not platform by platform, but all at once.

Real time analytics enables you to find out many useful pieces of information about your market, services and your customers.

With real time analytics, you will be able to monitor the behavior of your customers at various times of the day, days of the week and with enough data you will be able to observe how they behave during different months of year.

Real-time data

by Charlie630 In reply to Digital Clarity

It's always about analytics or is that just the inner data analysis in me talking... You are correct in that it no longer is a problem to get real-time data daily without going platform by platform. The data integration and ETL market has grown much within the last 5 years that I have been doing this. I seem to do a lot of data entry so data profiling and quality has been at the top of my mind from the beginning. Thank god that there is more accurate information and I can contact and pull up customers information easily.
