Diplay problem ..

The display in my Windows98 is not proper?Its hazy ,it does`nt have a proper colour,even after i have 256 colours display and Directx8?

Looks like you are missing display driver.Download the display driver from your manufacturer's website for the model which you have.

Right Mouse on "My computer" and look in Device Manager, do you have any Yellow Exclamation marks or red Xs? Such as PCI controller?
What kind of Video Display card do you have AGP or PCI?
If no problems in Device Manager, your monitor may be dying.

For Windows 98, you need up to 4 drivers to get the display adapter to work properly.

In recommended order of installation:

Chip-set drivers. AGP mini-port if you have an AGP graphics card.

The "proper" version of DirectX as required by the video card driver.

Video card driver.

Monitor driver.

If it's not the display drivers, it is time to swap in a different monitor.

It's possible that one of the color guns is starting to fail.

Or, that the degaussing circuit is not turning off.

If you recently moved the PC, electro-magnetic fields could be part of the problem.
