Direct Cable between Win XP to Win98 .

Doesn’t work.

Laptop Win XP. Desktop Win98. Lapink Parallel cable between both. Setup everything correctly, I believe. Wizard on XP appears to be the problem. It connects OK “veryies User name and passowrd”. two tv screens appear bottom left, not quite sure why, flashes occasionally but unable to map network drive. Just receives about 25,000 bytes every 10 minutes. Does not connect. Is the problem encryption! I’ve tried everything.
