Direct cable Win98 ? XP home?

I guess I could manage setting up a direct cable connection between two XP machines, but????..

Problem is I?ve got one 98 machine and one XP. (The 98 machine has not got any NIC, and I am not planning for a home network. The 98 has got no burner either.) I need transfer 600 MB from the 98 to the XP.

I have got a null modem cable.

What do I do?

buy a NIC and a cross over cable.

or get TFTP server and client and use the null modem cable over the serial ports but getting a NIC and cross over cable and Xfer files is probably a lot easier to do.

NIC and Xover cable OR take out the Win 98 hard drive and put in XP system as slave.

Hard drive to hard drive transfer would be much faster.
