direct cross-over cable win XP to win 98 connect

by gergerdotcom . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

hi,

my concern is about direct cross-over cable win XP (host) to win 98 connect (guest) using rj45.

hope u could help or assist me how to configure or setup 2-pc? one is ibm pc300 512 memory win XP and the other one is clone 586 256 memory win 98.

i’m using 2-LAN card for my ibm pc300 and 1-LAN card for the 586. all LAN card are 3com though different model and externally connected or attached PCI slot socheted.

what are the settings perhaps for the BIOS (if necessary or needed), as well, LAN Connections Properties for the Clients, Services and Protocols in order to communicate or let the 2-pc talk.

hope u could enlighten me of my inquiry.

thanks.
