I have a Compaq Presario 17xl260, with an ATI Rage Mobility-M1 video card. I had this laptop connected to a KVM switch sharing a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, with an IBM pentium 4. Loaded a program called UB FunKeys for my grandson – could see on laptop monitor and LCD hooked to KVM. Played game for a while all seemed ok. Shut down computers, next day brought back up, monitor will not show up. Hooked lcd straight to laptop, no go. The lcd monitor and a generic tv I set up years ago are both listed under the monitor tab in settings/advanced, but you cannot choose either. This program I loaded for my grandson apparently used Adobe Reader – I have blown that away, the funkeys program, reloaded xp home, to no avail. I have deleted both the generic tv and the lcd monitor from the hardware list, but they come right back when I reboot. I have called the company that makes the funkeys, Adobe, and Iogear (that makes the KVM- which I know is not involved cause the monitor won’t work connected straight to the laptop. )This is driving me nuts. HELP!
