Your keyboard doesn't have the "Windows" key?

by NickNielsen In reply to disabling windows notific ...

It's the key between <Ctrl> and <Alt> with the Windows logo on it. It may also be marked "Start".

If your keyboard doesn't have this key, open the Properties dialog by right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties.

If you are asking which Windows key to use (right or left), it doesn't matter.

that doesn't HAVE a windows key.

Question, how do you DISABLE that key? when the boys and I play Diable2, if you hit that key it shells you out of your game and your usually dead by the time you get back to the correct screen.....

Don't hit the key!

The only way I can think of is to remap the keyboard so the windows key has a null value.

That or find an old 88 and use that when you're playing...

and I can be nice, occasionally...

In HKLM, navigate to System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout

Add REG_BINARY value 'Scancode Map'

Set the value to

(unfortunately, you can't cut and paste!)

You're welcome...

Edit to add: There are sixteen characters in each line. I couldn't be bothered to use a monospaced font...
