Disapearing Browser Form Information

I’m not sure if this is a problem with XP or simply an IE6 bug, and I’m a bit new to these forums so forgive me if I missed a more appropriate location for this.

The problem I and others have run into has just cropped up either since we’ve installed XP or since IE went to version 6. What happens is, after typing in a form or choosing an option from a drop down list, if you move to a different link with the intent of going back, it’s a toss up as to whether or not the text in the form or choice in the drop down box will still be there.

I assume others have noticed this, and wonder if there is a setting or a fix that will help with it. My guess is that it’s a bug due to the apparent randomness of it. My thanks for the help.
