When installing Win XP Pro, the setup couldn’t delete the partition because it couldn’t find it.
Rebooted into cmos. Yup, it was gone, and the auto couldn’t detect it either.
Powered down the PC and checked the connections. I took them loose, but ended up putting them back just as they were.
This time, cmos detected it.
Again installing XP. About half way through, BSOD. Memory Dump.
Again, cmos didn’t detect the drive upon restart.
Same thing. Again, it detected it. Restarted. Windows detected previous attempt at install and started installation again from start.
Made it completely through setup to registration.
Bingo, the hard drive disappeared again. This time to not be found again.
Any body have any ideas? Bad drive? Bad memory? Is it the idiot at the keyboard?
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
