disappearing icons win xp

from time to time the icons on my desk top disapear or only the top part of the icon will aisapears and the title /text under it will show.
almost the same problem i have with the start menu.
i have this problem long time ago and now i got infected with “keylooger.trojan and keylogger.exe” but i dont think there is conection between the two.
