Disclaimer caused 2140 error

By Brian Krumpelman ·
Need your help! Used MS TechNet KB Q262097 to append disclaimer text to outbound messages. However, receive "Could not start the Microsoft Internet Mail Service on \\server_name. Error 2140: An internal, Windows NT error occurred" Un-edited registry to get Internet Mail Service running again. Is not syntactical error in registry entries, which would have been easy to fix. Hope someone has seen this before!

Disclaimer caused 2140 error

Brain,
If the event id:4084 is showing up in your app log in conjuction with the Error 2140, it is probably the version of your imsext.dll causing this.I suggest you request the latest file version from Microsoft PSS and retry.
Hope it helps
Ettiene

Thanks Ettiene! What is Micosoft PSS? Could not find imsext.dll on Microsoft's web site. Can not wait to test your solution, with new file.
