Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk

by darrenkillen . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

I was replacing the modem which connected to the MB by sitting on 13 pins in front of the PCI slots. when i started the computer the computer got to “verifying DMI Pool Data” and then
“DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT DISK AND PRESS ENTER”
I used the boot disk but it won’t let me fdisk ( no fixed disk present). I can see the C Dir but that’s all I can’t do anything else. It suggest checking the virus, partitioning, rebooting. I entered the BIOS and changed the defaults to fail-safe but this didn’t work. The owner has no manuals as this computer was made up for him…..Have i affected the setting. I reinstalled the old modem but still no go……Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
