disk management error

by hippo007003 . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Hello. I recently bought a hard drive enclosure case to make my old hard drive become a portable hard drive. After everything was installed, I connected it to my new laptop, but I cannot find the drive appear on “my computer” window. Then, I went to the disk management to partition for my portable hard drive. In the disk management window, there are 2 icons named IBM_PRELOAD(C:)and under that is IBM_SERVICE, the IBM_PRELOAD(C:)has the layout, type, file system and status information such as NTFS and volume is 88.8 G. On the other hand, IBM_SERVICE does not suppose to have any information as mentioned above. Well, I mistakenly right-click the IBM_SERVICE and it pops up an option named “format it now?”. Then I formatted it and the problem comes up. The volume of this IBM_SERVICE became 4.28 G and the file type is FAT32. In other words, my C: drive’s volume became 93:08 G. After that, I have done allocating my portable hard drive, but I cannot see its every single information and I cannot open it anymore because the system requires me to format it all the time. I know I have made a stupid mistake such as format that IBM_SERVICE. I beg somebody to tell me any effective way to solve this problem. I have tried to use Data management software to recover my C: drive, but the problem is still on.
