I am working on a Dell Server (PowerEdge 2400 w/NT Server 4.0 sp6) that has two Hard Drives. The primary is 18GB and the second is 73GB. Both are on a RAID5 system and STRIP configured. Dell sent the server to us with the primary drive preconfigured. It comes up in Disk Administrator as looking like two seperate drives (1-4GB & 1-13GB), not as two partions on one drive. What we would like to do is add a third 18GB drive use it to mirror the primary drive. We have never done this before and want to know what to expect and what we need to do.
As it stands right now, we tried to mirror the primary drive with one of the partions on the 73GB, but that must not be possible because the “Disk Mirror” tool under options is faded.
Any help we could get would be greatly appreciated.
