disk space report for multiple servers

By greg ·
I am looking for a utility that will help me create a report that lists the disk size and amount of free space on 75+ Windows NT 4.0 servers.

You can use HYENA [www.adkins-resource.com]. You can easily select all member machines [you can control whether you see PDCs, BDCs, workstations, etc] and then you can ask to see DISK space. It's a great tool [with much more that just this feature].

They also have a free EXPORTER.EXE tool that you can configure to list all DOMAIN members machines disk usage directly into a file.

Yep while you will get some details from Hyena (a great util that every sys adm should use, forget user manager and use HYENA) there is another nifty util called Treesize pro
http://www.jam-software.com/treesize.html
This little gem will give you a graphical representation of how much space you have used, very nice.

I already use tree size pro and it is a great utility. I was looking for more of a batch type utility so I did not have to map a drive before checking on space.

Thanks.

Hi!

Checkout http://maxx.mc.net/~jlh/nttools.htm

It's a bunch of command line tools similiar to some commmon unix tools like df = diskfree wich shows how much free space you have.

He has also made a rdf = Remote Disk Free, so you can then use the tool like this:
rdf -h \\[computer name]

And it will report back size, disk free, used space on all disks on that machine.

With just make a .cmd file on your server where you run this command multiple times and the just redirect the output of that .cmd file into a .txt file.

Not graphical or the most easy tool to use, but get the job done it it is free of charge.
